Battery not charaging

ive just had my alternator reconed and i cleaned all the teminals up and the battery still will not charage ive had a couple of batterys on the car and the problem still remains and wen i tested the out put from the alternator its putting 17.6 volts out and between 14.6 to 15.3 into the battery but wen i drive the car 4 abit the battery go's dead again please can someone give me any ideas

if you ask me i would say that you are over charging the battery as you want a constant charge of 14.4 volts and not really any more i think you may have over charge the battery and may have done some damage to the battery hence it not taking the charge
