2002 Renault Scenic glow lamp comes on while driving

I do a fair bit of motorway driving and, for a couple of months now, the glow lamp has been coming on, only when I am on an upward incline doing between 60 and 70mph. I can tell when it comes on because when I accelerate to keep up my speed, I feel a loss of power and when I look, the lamp has come on. It goes off at the end of the incline. I have been putting off taking it to Renault because of their excessive charges and also because they could tell me that it was something major, when it wasn't and I wouldn't know. I'm hoping that someone might have an idea as to what is causing this to happen. Many thanks for all replies. Betty

Hi Betty, The vehicle will need to go into a Renualt specialist of some sort. If the light only comes on when the car is under heavy load it wont be anything terrible, could be a fuel mixture issue. Where about in the UK are you? i know a few good Renault specialists who have all the diagnosing kit but cost half the price.

Thank you very much for that. I am in the Border area,near Carlisle and have just moved here, so I am looking for a reliable guy that would look after my vehicle long term as well. Would really appreciate it if you could point me in the right direction.
