2002 Renault Scenic clutch

Sorry about earlier New to all this technology .it,s the clutch I press down the clutch selected 1st but when start to lift the clutch it bites at about 4inches is this normal? Please help.

Could be signs of clutch wear if not biting till near end of travel .Could also be clutch cable which is self adjusting not operating correctly , but hard to say as there are other possible causes .(Assuming that year is a cable and not hydraulic clutch .

If it has the DMF (dual mass flywheel ) that can give problems also . Here is a link about the clutch cable adjustment , might help you .
