Slow Starting

2005 Renault Scenic Grand Scenic 1.9Dci
Car: Renault Scenic
Year: 2005
Variant: Grand Scenic 1.9Dci
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
My Grand Scenic Dci is slow to start after pressing the button. normally turns about 4-6 seconds before starting, than starts in about 2-3 when engine is warm
Problem added: Mar 19, 2015 (9 years ago)
Diesel need good well charged batteries and good starter motors.
They need to spin the engine over at better than 180 RPM.
When trying to start.
So that's the first thing I test for.

I have already replaced the battery, could the Glow plugs be faulty

Sure,
I test them by removing them and using a thick-ish wire connect them to a battery.
If they glow orange hot they're working.
But removal on these engines can sometimes be a problem
They can REALLY stick in!
