2000 Renault Scenic front sunroof

Car: Renault Scenic
Year: 2000
Variant: RXE
Categories: Leaks & Noises
Hi, I have a problem with the front sunroof on my 2000 Scenic RXE (2.0 litre petrol).

It has been working properly until this afternoon, when I tried to close it after driving home. The glass will slide almost fully forward, but will not return back to the horizontal plane. The trailing edge of the glass panel remains in the tilt position. There seems to be some sort of mechanical "thunk" and the motor stops, although I can hear a clicking sound when I press the "close" position on the switch.

I have checked the slides for dirt etc, but these are clean, with a light smear of grease lube.

I will be appreciative of any help or advice.

Many thanks,

Roger

Maybe worth dropping the motor out and checking it and checking the mechanism is ok,That it,s not damaged, you could try lubricating if nothing obvious.
