Noisy on start up sometimes only when cold

Car makes a grinding noise when cold on start up but not all the time, any ideas would be great. Just had service last week engine flush oil change new plugs.

Was it making the noise before the oil change ? Did you change oil filter ?

Its probably your starter motor either on its way out or battery charge low. Check earths also

Does sound like a starter or ring gear meshing issue .

Yes has had new oil filter, thought it maybe starter motor have checked battery connections ok, have heard some where about dephaser problems on scenics has only done 43000 miles 2005 year.

May well be dephaser pulley , very common fault . Would be advisable to get it checked / replaced asap if needed .
