how difficult is it to change a alternator belt

It ,s not too bad ,first thing to do is draw a diagram of the belt and pulleys then locate the belt tensioner .just make sure you have the grooves of the belt correctly mounted in the pulley grooves or you can damage the belt,and best turn the engine by hand and check the belt is correctly fitted prior to starting it.

does the idler pulley unbolt or just slacken
