Tailgate wont stay up

When you lift the tailgate it just drops down again., Does anyone know if there is some sort of switch, or is it a hydraulic problem.

Will almost definitely be the hydraulics, shouldn't be any more than £20 to replace

It will definately be the struts that hold the boot up. Get your garage to do it as its a bit of a pain to fit. Renault do use very cheap gas struts and its a known problem.

as your car is 2006 year renault should replace struts foc note:if extra spoiler fitted uprated struts are required.

Thanks for you help, now fixed by garage replacing struts.
