2000 Renault Scenic what is causing the leak

Car: Renault Scenic
Year: 2000
Variant: RT 1.6 16V AUTOMATIC
Categories: Leaks & Noises
2000 RENAULT SCENIC RT 1.6 16V AUTOMATIC
New Water Pump and Cambelt Kit --- ( but leaking coolant )
THE CAR RUNS VERY WELL NO OVER HEATING OF ANY KIND
TEMP' IS STEADY AND ON THE BUTTON

BUT NOW AND AGAIN AFTER 2 OR 3 DAYS
THIS HAPPENS AFTER A GOOD DRIVE
I WOULD FIND ONCE THE ENGINE IS LEFT OVER NIGHT TO COOL RIGHT DOWN
THERE I WOULD SEE A POOL OF ANTIFREEZE / COOLANT THAT LEAKED --- UNDER THE CAR

SO I TOOK THE CAR TO ( 2 LOCAL GARAGES )
THEY BOTH RAN THE ENGINE FOR A GOOD WHILE - BROUGHT UP TO HIGH TEMP' - THEN PRESSURE TESTED THE CAR.
THEN LEFT TO COOL DOWN -- HAD A VERY GOOD LOOK OVER THE CAR --- NO SIGNS OF LEAKS
WERE FOUND ANYWHERE FROM HOSES OR BLOCK OR HEAD GASKET OR WATER PUMP.

I "FINALLY" WENT TO A
"RENAULT DEALER"
FOR A
DIAGNOSTIC AND PRESAURE TESTS DONE
NO LEAKS WERE FOUND
AFTER PAYING DIAGNOSTIC TEST FEE ££££££.
I WAS TOLD -- ALSO GIVING IN WRITING -- THE RESULTS OF THERE TESTS

'THERE FINDINGS BELOW'

"RESULT OF THE RENAULT DIAGNOSTIC TESTS"
( RENAULT DEALERS -- TASK L ) -- ( DIAGNOSTIC AND PRESAURE TESTS )
"CONFIRMED LOSS OF COOLANT"
"PRESSURE TESTED TO FIND LEVEL DROPING"
"BUT NO SIGNS OF LEAK"
"CARRIED OUT BLOCK TEST" ------ "SUSPECTED HEAD GASKET" OR "BLOCK FAULT"

AFTER DOING ALL THIS I FEEL NONE THE WISER TO WHAT IS CAUSING THE LEAK

THEY AGREED THE CAR IS RUNNING VERY WELL,
HOW COME THEY CANNOT TELL ME
( AFTER USEING THERE RENAULT VERY EXPENSIVE DIAGNOSTIC TEST MACHINE --- WHAT THE REAL FINDINGS ARE -- NOT JUST SUSPECTED FINDINGS )
(1) ITS THE HEAD GASKET
(2) ITS A BLOCK FAULT
PLEASE WHAT DO I DO NOW CAN YOU HELP AND ADVISE

Hi james
I understand your concerns but we can only offer you so much information, as i have said previously any garage worth its salt should be able to diagnose the fault you have, if it can't you need to move onto someone who can, i,m a bit puzzled to be honest why a leak cannot be found as you have mentioned you have a leak under the car, you need to get the coolant system gas testedand pressure tested for head gasket issues and the block pressure tested for internal issues, its not rocket science, speak to your freinds and see who they can recommend.
good luck

I would Recommened anyone to go to this Garage

Usually the water manifold going into the main block behind where the water pump is mounted ,this pipe work is secured in place by a set single set screw M6 ,the reason for using a set screw is because the seal at the block end is an 'o'ring pushed up against a shoulder on the pipework, however this sometimes gets split when refitted due to the bore having some sharp egdes ,the 'o' ring is squeezed into place by the offset of the M6 screw ,hence the need for a set screw,as the engine cools the pipework contracts and breaks the seal slightly, any defect in the 'o'ring then allows coolant to escape, which runs down the block to the underside ,most of the time it looks like your water pump has gone.
requires 1 'o'ring ,and a bit of fiddling
