2004 Renault Scenic brake pedal hard

Car: Renault Scenic
Year: 2004
Variant: 1.9 dci
Categories: Steering, Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres
Hi

I have had my turbo redone on my Renault Scenic II 1.9dci. Since getting the car back the brake pedal is suddenly hard and braking is very difficult. a person has to almost stand on the peddle to stop the car. Could this be sudden brake booster failure? the garage advised that the brake pads need to be replaced but i find it hard to believe that this would cuase the peddle to be so hard.
Please help.
Thanks

If pedal as described , servo / booster not working . Disc pads would not cause it .Check servo vacuum hose .

Where would the servo vacuum hose be stiuated? I thought somehow it sould be a blocked vacuum pipe, but dont know where to start looking.

On petrol engine engines the vacuum normally comes from inlet manifold on diesels it comes from the vacuum pump which usually have a one-way valve fitted .

" The vacuum pump is on the end of the camshaft. If it is not working or the ports are blocked , either the wastegate actuator on the turbo will not work or you will have a very hard brake pedal as it also serves the brake servo.
