2004 Renault Scenic unlocking tailgate

i have replaced the micro switch and the locking mechanism but unfortunately my tailgate still does'nt open rest of locking works fine from inside and outside, unbelievable that ther is no other way of opening it without stripping it down from the inside and flicking the wee white unlocking part, any soilution would be appreciated preferably without spending anymore money:-(

Checked for any broken wiring where it enters tailgate ?
