" Solutions (1)
I have just replaced the starter on a 2001 Scenic 1.6 16v, after working it out the job could be easily done in 2 hours.
Jack the front of the car up, remove the engine bottom cover. From the top of the engine remove the airfilter then the 3 bolts that attach the starter motor. From underneath remove the oil pressure transducer (you need to remove this to allow room to pull the starter out), then unbolt the 10mm nut that attaches the electrical connection on the starter. The 10mm nut does not detach so gently prise the connection away from the starter. The starter should now be free to move, if not gently use a screwdriver to prise away. The starter will now come out with a bit of manipulation, there is no need to remove the driveshaft. "
