2000 Renault Laguna gearbox or clutch

Is it cable operated or hydraulic???.

its cable and cable is new followed cable to end to plate which sticks out of gearbox very loose

If you can't adjust the cable to take up any slack, then maybe the pressure plate has collapsed. Thus not disengaging the clutch to allow you to select gears

ref pressure plate if thats gone which it looks like it as is it expensive job to replace and is it a tricky job to do or easy?

Should be able to buy a clutch kit for for about £100. Consisting of a new clutch plate, new pressure plate, and new thrust bearing. As for replacing it, not sure on that car.

ok cheers 4 information looks like might to snd it scrap cos lookin with the clutch plate is looks lot of work and its probaly gonna cost more than car worth

i ahve a renault laguna 05 reg, 1.9 diesel DCi, resently had a new clutch fitted, when i travel around town the clutch is fine. when i travel on the motorway for a time the clutch losses pressure and the pedal satys to the floor. changed the cylinder near the clutch pedal but the problem still happens. bleed the clutch pipe and dirty liquid came out for a while then it was clean liquid.

my renault laguna has the same problem did you ever find out what the prob was
