2002 Renault Laguna puddle liight

Hi all, I saw the above problem on this site about a month ago, I now have it on my car but can't find it now...so here goes - when the drivers door is opened the puddle light does not come on and the computer does not show the door has being open!! Any advice or fix would be greatful, in advance 'THANK YOU'
