2005 Renault Laguna locking tailgate with key?

Variant: 1.9Dci Estate
Keycard lock button not working.How do i lock the tailgate?Have done other doors ok.

have a look in the handbook to see if there is an emergency proceedure for locking/unlocking doors and boot

I have locked all other doors with the key but unable to find where to lock tailgate

Came across this re. this problem , dont know if it works .

An alternative way to lock the doors (and the tailgate) is to open a rear door, lean in and press the central locking switch. Now close the rear door and all should be locked. Use the emergency key to get back in and reverse the procedure
