2002 Renault Laguna car wont start, electrical fault??

I was driving my car fine, went to shops, came back and car would not start.
car unlocked as usual, all electrics work, tried jump starting, but nothing all dash lights, internal light, everything works, but when i try to start there is just a click and nothing, dash lights flicker but thats it. tried alternative battery, still nothing.
couls this be due to a fuse problem like the clio's and megane's? or starter motor?
help me please!!

The click sounds like the starter solenoid .Could check all wiring / connector at starter and also battery and earth cables .If still not turning engine , try giving starter motor a hard rap with the likes of a hammer shaft .Sometimes works .
