1999 Renault Laguna tries to accelerate but is tugging back

When I increase the revs the car holds back but will then suddenly allow it to fire and you can feel it work all of a sudden. Very intermittent but now is happenening a lot. Is really good on motorway but then when come of is a nightmare juddering etc.

Many possible causes , but ignition coils very , very common .
