2005 Renault Laguna rear brake pads

Car: Renault Laguna
Year: 2005
Variant: 1.9 Diesel
Categories: Steering, Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres
I need to change the rear brake pads on my 55plate laguna with an electric hand brake. How do i wind the caliper pistons back and does this have any effect on the hand brake

for cars with an electric handbrake you need to get a special diagnostic tool that plugs into the cars diagnostic socket which backs the motor off allowing you to wind the caliper pistons back, unless you have this tool you cant do it yourself,

Here is a walkthrough with pictures on replacing the rear brake pads on a Scenic II fitted with the automatic handbrake which will allow you to do them yourself .Probably the same set up as your Laguna .

This also refers to switching off h/brake without any equipment etc.
