2001 Renault Laguna juddering and drinking fuel

I have a 51 plate Laguna 1.9DCi and I have a problem that between about 1800 and 2200 RPM it feels like its its miss-firing, it judders, but it also feels like the power is down too, plus it seems to be using a lot of diesel, 1/4 of a tank for 100 miles!
A while ago an orange light (bottom centre of lights)came on an it was holding right back and wouldn't go above about 2500/3000 revs, but once switched off, left and switched back on it was fine
I also have a rattling noise but I cant locate it, but it only happens when driving and you get to about 2500 revs then goes away!
Any idea what my problem(s)could be?
I do hope it will be cheap to fix and its not something like the turbo and or gearbox!!

hi maybe get a diagnostic test done it mite show up faults which mite lead u in d right direction.
