I MEAN THE PIN THAT SLIDES FROM THE O/S REAR WING AND LOCKS THE FUEL COVER AUTOMATICALLY WHEN YOU LOCK THE CAR

IF I HAVE TO REPLACE THE LOCKING PIN UNIT, HOW DO I REMOVE THE OLD UNIT? I TRIED REMOVING FROM THE FRONT BUT I RAN INTO A SMALL PROBLEM, YOU CAN'T REMOVE THE COVERING AROUND THE NECK OF THE TANK
