i dont know whether this is will be any use to you, but i have had several french vehicles most of the renault, (sadly) all things renault become silly and complex the more technology they add... had the same trouble with my 95 laguna (m-plate) and renault kangoo (w-plate). with the laguna it was the ICV (idle control valve) and a mucky throttle body assembly; whereas with the kangoo it was only the ICV again.
