IS THERE A RELAY THAT WORKS RADIO/CLOCK AND KEEPS THE MEMORY?
NORMALLY I WOULD OPEN THE DOOR AND INTERIOR LIGHTS WOULD COME ON AND I HAVE TO KEEP PUTTING IN RADIO CODE AND SETTING THE CLOCK
ALSO I WOULD NORMALLY BE ABLE TO LISTEN TO RADIO AND HAVE THE HEATER FAN ON WITH KEY IN THE FIRST POSITION BUT WILL ONLY WORK ON KEY/CARD ON FOR START UP OFF ENGINE?

Could it be a fault with the card / card reader ?Check this out ,with link at end , from someone else having probs .

I have had problems with my card reader (and am currently having a whole other set of problems). As you have listed in your original post the most likely cause of the problem is dirt/dust/fluff in the card reader. This can clog up the tiny micro-switch the the card activates. If you haven't done so already, take the card reader unit out, take its outer casing off and give it a hoover (or better still blow all the dust off with an airline/canister if you have one) and maybe squirt a little switch cleaner onto the microswitch.

I did this last year when my car was having the same problem as yours and up until now it has been fine. I did a post on it some time ago with a couple of blurry pics:

Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.
