2001 Renault Laguna instument panel stays lit up sometimes

Could you please help I had my battery off and when it went back on my instrument panel stays lit up when I disconnect the battery and put it back on it seems to re set it then its ok for a few days then it happens again "Today it stayed lit up and wouldent start " until I took the lead off the battery and put it on again " all was ok until next time " its a real pain ""

Lagunas had a prob . with instrument clusters ,see here http://www.bba-reman.com/content.aspx?content=renault_laguna_dashboard Don't know if this is what is happening with your car .
