Hi,
I'm hoping you have found the solution by now but just in case not here is what worked for me.

1. Using your key card press the unlock button twice
(1st press drivers door, 2nd all doors)

2. Now press the lock button twice.
(1st press all doors, 2nd deadlocks)

3. Press unlock once.
(Drivers door only)

The car should now start.

The RAC man did not know this and i couldn't find this anywhere on the net. By chance a work mate had the same problem picking up his Espace from a Renault dealer and the mechanic knew the fix.
Here's hoping someone else benefits too.

If not that you need to get the key card checked with a card reading machine at Renault dealership to eliminate that possible fault .Used to be f.o.c.

Thanxs for reply, I dont have a battery in the key card because I dont used the key card central ,I have anthor remote to open the car and the key card to start the car .what should I do in this mode

when i put the key in the slot the light on the dash stays on when the key is taken out it flashes as stated the I have anther remote to opens and locks doors ...
