Car will not start immobiliser light is on, renault claim its ok

I have a renualt laguna 2.0 2003 i put key in to slot to start and all i get up on dash board is one red light and nothingelse. The key unlocks and locks the doors fine. Unplugged battery and refitted and nothing car was working fine before happened overnight. please help
