1999 Renault Laguna instruement failure

I`m currently exp the above wherby @ times all the dials for example speed,petrol etc fail to work this also includes the computer re-set button but then after a period of time all is well again,unsure if this is a common problem with this make & model have been advise by 1/2 others that this could be a battery fault but other electrics within in the car are working fine ????

could be get auto sparky to look @ it dont cost much

Instrument failure is quite common on these, i have replaced quite a few, i have also had them repaired before, but this means sending them away and it is sometimes up to a week before you get them back
