Alarm?

When the car locks (by hands free Renault card) the horn bibs and indicators flash - all correct. However, it then sounds a not very load constant beep (from the alarm) which last approx 1 min. Sometimes on returning to the car when it un-locks (by hands free) it makes the same sound. Recently the alarm has also been going off for no reason. The cars hand-book gives no advice.......
