2001 Renault Laguna vehicle wont start at all

My son owns the car and parked up for 5 mins and when he put the card key in the car wouldn't start at all there is no clicking or attempt to start

firstly is the battery ok? like can the car be unlocked using card key as it could be a fault with the card key, as i have 2 card keys one of which is faulty wont always unlock the doors etc. I think a good battery & Charging system is important with all the electronics.
Also once the car is running i would suggest having the engine terra cleaned its a new system from usa teaured on wheeler dealers it takes an hour to do but cleans yopur engine internally not every garage does this log onto www.terraclan.co.uk its recommended to have this done once a year to help maintain your engine i have had it done and its well worth the money hope you get your problem solved as renault are proned for Electrical problems as i am expericencing
