Renault kangoo 2010 1.5dci went to start van nothing but a small click from fuse box under the dash passenger side. Nothing else no starter motor turning

What voltage is your other battery showing ? Could check earth wire from gearbox to body . If still having problems , if you can reach down to starter with a pole / hammer shaft , give it a few hits and then try .

Hi mate I’d tryed all the usual stuff and thought it was a bad earth or broken earth strap. But while disconnecting the battery I found a cable one of the 5 coming off the battery looked like the insulation had been chafing showing like green powder where the copper should have been. I paired it back the insulation and the cable about 3/16 thick had worn through. It had been rubbing probably with vibration on a plastic clip which had gone through the cable in time. I crimped in a large connector and wrapped up the rest in insulation tape. Reconnected the battery after cable toeing the wires clear of the offending problem. Turned the key and she fired up problem solved could have been nasty if that had happened away from home. Thanks anyway at least you replied offering help. Cheers
