Hi. On a car that age, it shouldn't have much computerised control!. Maybe it could be simply a bit of air. Keep an eye to see if it does it on a certain tank level or going round corners,unfortunately its too old to be read by the newer diagnostics but eBay should sell you a simp!e code reader or light blinker for a few pennies. You may be lucky.
