2005 Renault Kangoo display on dash not working

I have just got a second hand Kangoo was working fine, then today display on dash lights went off, but all is working just not lit up, ie clock etc, when I turn on ignition stays on for a few minutes, then goes off,if I turn my lights on also makes it go off, flickers intermittently then, if it does come on part of it is dimly lit, as though power is being sucked out somehow,

Furst thing I would check would be the fuses . If it has a dimmer switch , check that also .
