Instrument cluster is a common fault .There used to be a repair that you could try , but I seem to have lost it.If I can dig it up I will post .

Dashboard /instrument panel is a very common and known fault on the Renault Espace . Go here and see some other owners having this and other faults with instrument cluster etc.
