is this the first time its happened?
do you get the management light appear on the dash?
These models have so much go wrong with them, it could be many different things.
The main culprit for your problem, is the EGR Valve playing up, causing it to draw up and redirect small quantities of oil to the wrong places

cleaned egr valve but it has another problem turns over but wont start so been spraying easy start into air pipe and it starts this way and will run all day.
but now it is very sluggish and engine management light comes on when you rev it up and smokes
