1996 Renault Espace blower moto resistor

I HAVE ASKED SIMULAR QUESTION BEFORE . I HAVE GOT A[ REANAULT ESPACE DEISEL 2068CC ENGINE. YEAR 1996.....MY PROBLEM IS,HEATER BLOWER RESISTOR HAS BLOWN. PLEASE CAN SOMEONE TELL ME, OR SHOW ME WHERE TO FIND IT. AND HOW TO FIX IT. THANKS IN ADVANCE.

The resistor is inside the blower motor casing. The casing is the big box that sits above the engine surrounded by the felt sound proofing. It's a bugger to get out. Remove the felt, unbolt it (nuts on the back holding it to the bulkhead and on the "ceiling" of the engine bay holding it up. Disconnect the cables and then fiddle with it until it squeezes out the front.
Then you have to take the casing apart. Some screws are hiden behind the rubber seal. You will see the resistor pack to one side. I don't think they're available seperately so it's down the scrap yard. It maybe that the thermal fuse has blown and you can just short it out but it's a small risk. Hardly worth it to be honest. I've done it twice but the second time I added a second resistor pack and paralleled them up. It shares the heat and I geat a slightly faster speed on 1,2 and 3. I won't bother again! :-(
