Have had to charge the battery weekly over cold spell as car only does short journeys. Today the battery and STOP light came on after 200m. Only a short journey so carried on (3 miles in total) further on all the warning lights came on, then all the heater controls on the door started flashing, the lights started to dim but engine kept running. When stopped at destination obviously the battery was flat so wouldn't start but all the warning lights were still on and the alarm for the lights would sound when the door was opened even though they weren't on??? Can anyone steer me in the right direction (I have tried the spare key but this makes no difference)

Suggest getting battery and alternator tested .

if the battery is going flat then check alternator charge rate and check battery for excess drain

Have had alternator and battery tested by breakdown company when vehicle was recovered and he said alternator was charging ok but battery wasn't holding a charge - so replaced battery and it started ok, but after about 30 seconds the battery warning light came on, does this mean that the alternator isn't consistently charging and is it worth getting checked by someone else?

if the battery light is coming on then the fault lies with in the charging circuit,if you have a multimeter then the charge rate needs to be checked with no electrical load on it at 2000 - 3000rpm and also check it with electrical load on it at 2000 - 3000rpm,get the readings up on here and we will tell you if thats ok or not
you should ideally check the charge rate directly from alternator and then check at battery,voltage should be near enough the same at both points if not then you could be getting a voltage drop on the wire from alternator to battery

i have the exact same vehicle with the exact same problem!! did you guys ever find out what the issue was.

Hi i have a problem with my intermitent wipers on the front. Everytime i turn the ignition on it blows the fuse.
Also when the car is locked and a car goes by the alarm goes off.
Can anyone help
