2000 Renault Espace gearbox jumping between 3rd and 4th

Over a year ago my gearbox failed, and had to be re-furbished. Before this no issues with the gearbox. Since the re-furb when under gentle acceleration it jumps between 3rd and 4th and doesnt seem to know which gear to be in. I took it back to the garage who re-furbed, and they said it might be the brake switch, cant see how myself, but any ideas please.

Many possible causes , best to get it scanned for faults . This from another forum verifies that ,usually cheapest in long run .
im a renault tech and have seen this prob before.The modulating sol valve needs to be replaced which is on the hydraulic distributer,it may also req reprogramming of the auto comp depending on what software version the comp is this can only be done by renault garage.the oil cooler on side of gearbox must also be removed to check for contamination as fault may reoccer if this not done
