2005 Renault Espace glove compartment

I have a modern Renault Espace and I am having trouble removing the top "Glover Compartment" (small one - ontop of the larger one.) I have removed the two screws from the front but it is still stuck solid. There are numerous small retangled holes underneath the compartment but how do I remove it? I am sure the little spaces have something to do with its removal. Your help would be appreciated. The Dog
