When the car has been driven a few miles the 'oil can' and red circle next to the temperature gauge come on. However the temperature gauge shows normal temperature, the water reservoir is full and the water is not overheating and the oil is full.
What is the problem and how can I fix it? any thoughts would be gratefully received.

Could be drop in oil pressure due to wear and tear on engine .Could try an oil and filter change , using a good oil , especially if not been done for a while .May also be faulty oil pressure switch .

Thank you for that. The car has only done 125K but it has not been used much in the last 4 years (about 1,500 miles) It has not had an oil change for all that time so I will try a change of oil and filter first. If that does not work I will change the oil pressure switch. Where can I find this on the car, please.
