2003 Renault Espace replacing a starter motor

Car: Renault Espace
Year: 2003
Variant: 1.9 dci manual
Categories: Engine & Drivetrain
Hi I am after some help in regards to replacing my starter motor mainly to save some money.
Would somebody please explain the best way of replacing the starter motor, I had a look quickly at the weekend but I'm not sure if it is best to tackle it from the top of the engine or underneath? The only thing I know is that there doesn't seem much room from underneath? If anybody can help and advise I would be very grateful

It,s a bit of both to get that starter out with bolts holding it on through the bell housing but underneath to get the electrics disconnected.disconnect the battery first obviously.
