2003 Renault Espace won't start

The key unlocks the car,I put the key into the reader,the ignition comes on the steering wheel lock goes off.it turns over,but doesn't start and the red light on the dash stays on.
Any suggestions as to what the problem could be?

Is engine turning over fast enough ? Tried a jump start ?

Possible poor connection on the reader pop it out and clean grease connector,if fault persist,s may req,new one.

There's usually a code logged if it,s key card reader.
