2000 Renault Espace intermittent starting

hi all , I have a 2.2 diesel espace, my problem started with intermittent starting 9 times out of 10 it will start ok but some times it would take anything up to 15 turns of the key to start but lately it is harder to start and will cut out after a few minutes and will not start again for a couple of hours then starts no problem but will cut out again then wont start, I can not use it as it is as it is totally unreliable

Could be a fuel issue,does your model year have a injector pump,if so then check the solenoid on the pump is not faulty ,that cut,s the fuel supply,not sure when they changed to common rail system but it must be close to your year.

dont think it is glow plugs could be drawing air into fuel system check all pipes could be crank sensor or injectors an injector leak of test might be worth doing dont know mileage but compressions could be low

I have had the car back a week now and it has been o.k. its a 2001 2.2 diesel, yesterday it cut out twice on me within 50 meters of each other, I turned the key off and on and it restarted perfect its been o k since I was told it might be a dirty egr valve and it can be found behind the air filter have just had a look and nothing looks like it there anyone any idea where the egr valve can be found
