2003 Renault Espace renault espace doesnt start

hi i have just got my gear box fitted and a new starter moter and alternator in my renault espace, but now when trying to start it says steering wheel is locked and the car ticks but doesnt start , any resolutions to this problem guys?

Hard to understand your post . What do you mean by "the car ticks " ?Is it a clicking noise from the solenoid at starter ? Is the engine turning over ? Was it starting o.k before g/box fitted ?

Has your earth strap been correctly secured to gearbox ,check this first.or quick test for earth issues is jump lead from battery earth to good earth point on engine and see if works.
