In heavy traffic the car lost all power, there's no warning, no strange noise nothing. It happened several times in heavy London traffic before I had the car flatbedded to the Porsche Centre. They had the car for 3 days, ran a load of tests and couldn't find anything wrong with it.
Does anyone know what could have caused this. And no it wasn't me stalling it, it happened around 10 times in 15 minutes of driving.

As you are sat in traffic when this occurs i would suggest it is heat related, maybe affecting a sensor that is starting to fail, IE crank sensor, boxters do have engine bay fans in the rear, can you hear these operating, they are quite apparent when they switch on. You could also go to a dealer as i cannot remember if they have economy mode option which shuts the engine off if you have not moved for a period of time
Hi , I have a 2001 Porsche Boxster with the same issue ,did you ever find a solution to the engine cut out problem you had ?
it would be most appreciated if you could let me know as I'm running out of ideas to what the problem is ?
Many thanks .
