Aha! You may be right. Van booked in after new year for another go at the door rattle/engine whine will make a point of mentioning new cam belt. I didn't notice whine when I test drove the van. The cam belt was due for replacement and was changed as part of the deal. I part exch'd at a dealer a couple of hundred miles away. Painful lesson learnt. While dealer has honoured his in house warranty to cover any necessary mechanical repairs it has been frustrating and time consuming getting the van sorted. I know from previous experience dealers do the minimum in order to get campers through the MOT, then it's a case of holding their feet to the fire to get the vehicle up to standard and naively thought any mechanical shortcomings would be addressed. Not so in this case. Been up hill all the way. Instead of a rush of joy whenever I fire up the engine I feel anxiety. I fear I have been sold an expensive pup and am facing the loss of several thousand pounds if I throw in the towel and get rid.
