Low mileage car driving at speed suffers a failed belt tensioner which shreds aux belt, tensioner shears and parts destroy cam belt, which causes complete engine failure. Agents claim that the tensioner is a known issue but cannot assist.

With it being over 7 yrs old ( despite low mileage ) perfectly normal for any dealership to take this line unfortunately . I have often done " warranty work " in different dealerships when a car was not long out of warranty and had full service history as a company token to customers , but never at 7 yrs old .
