2009 Peugeot 308 Problems

Knocking noes back rear. none driver's side .nothing seems to be loose at back.

Peugeot 308 2009. The gear will not accelerate pass the third gear and when it does it struggles. The car works with a speed below 50kph but struggles when accelerating above 50

When turning on Heater, Fan, Vents we get what smells like exhaust gas in the car interior. Only way we can stop it is to lower the windows and close all vents. Local garage is baffled.
