Bonnet won't close fully

Just bought a 2010 Peugeot 308 opened the bonnet but now it won't close properly and the release lever is slack, any advice welcome!!

Sounds as if the lever in the bonnet lock that catches the pin is stuck , try spraying with WD40 and working the mechanism
