Heated rear screen not working but there is power to the plug connection

Heated rear screen not working although there is power up to plug in socket. When the rear screen is plugged in the power drops away. Both heated wing mirrors work fine, all powered by the same switch.

If you are getting power then it is either a ground fault or the screen . I think I already suggested checking the wiring where it passes from body into tailgate for breaks . The Ford Fiestas had a problem with earthing at rear and it was caused by the boot hinges where the earthing came from .
