2009 Peugeot 308 whirling noise

Hi. I have just bought this car and noticed a whirling noise. It's constant and doesn't change when I push the clutch in or accelerate? It seems to be coming from the engine compartment but as I've not own a Peugeot for a long time I'm unsure if this is just a normal noise. It's noticeably loud. Does anyone have any clues? Thanks in advance.

Best go to a mechanic,
I mean we can't "hear" any noises here so anything would be just a guess.
