2008 Peugeot 308 gets stuck in 5th gear

Sometimes when gearing down it'll stick in 5th gear. If I work the clutch I can get it into neutral and then it'll be fine. This could happen every time during a journey or the 1st time I try to go from 5th to 4th and then not happen again and all gear changes will be smooth.
Any ideas?

There's selector arms attached to the gearbox,
they're metal with plastic inserts and these can wear.
But 5 gear on these is right on the end of the box,
under the steel end cover,
so it's pretty high up in the box,
and the first thing to suffer from low oil.
so I'd drain the box oil and replenish with new G/box oil.
Oh and check the amount of oil drained out.
"should be around 2 L"
if any actually comes out,
It wouldn't be the first time I've not seen any oil drain from a box!
